Obituary

Adeline Hermina Presler, 91, formerly of Gackle, ND, went to her loving home in heaven on November 6, 2022 at Eventide, Jamestown, ND.

Adeline was born November 17, 1930 at the family farm 7 miles north of Fredonia, ND, the daughter of Edward and Ottilia (Burkle)Tiede.  Adeline attended a country school through the eighth grade.  She worked on the family farm through her early years, loved being outside helping her father and mother.

August 27, 1950 Adeline married Walter H. Presler at Jud ND.  They lived with her parents for 1 year until moving to Walter’s parents, John G. and Othilda (Domdie) Presler, farm southwest of Gackle, ND, until 2011.  At that time, they had a farm auction and moved to Jamestown, ND.  Adeline’s joys in life were her garden, animals, especially cats, the farm and making cottage cheese and cream for neighbors and friends.  To make sure she had enough made for her orders, she would stay up many late nights.  She was a very hard worker, best mom, wife and friend and will be missed daily.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Gackle, ND.

She is survived by her husband, of 72 years, Walter, three daughters, Gail Gunst, Fargo, ND, Ardis (Don)Boehmer, Gackle, ND and Linda Presler, Dickinson, ND.  Two grandchildren, Cher (Jeff) Heidt, Baron Curtis and Lacal, and five great grandchildren. One sister Hattie Fandrich, Colorado, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean and Arden Whitworth, one brother Willard Tiede, one infant grandson, and uncles and aunts.

There will be a graveside service at a later date.

Debbie and/or I would stop by on an occasional trip through Jamestown to visit Aunt Adeline and Uncle Walter in their apartment, then later at the nursing home. It was always so pleasureful to spend time with them. The most memorable time spent was a few years ago when we talked on the phone an hour or more. I had numerous family questions and we had such a wonderful time airing out dirty laundry and finding some closet skeletons! Her good hearted, soft spoken nature was always such a blessing. I often said I wished she could have been my mom. I regret not being able to stop in on my way through this past March. RIP dear Aunt Adeline. You are already missed.
