Arlene Geisinger, 78, Jamestown, ND died Friday September 22, 2023 at SMP Health- Ave Maria in Jamestown.

Arlene Deutscher was born September 1, 1945 the daughter of Gustof and Amelia (Hurst) Deutscher.  She was raised on the family farm northwest of Gackle, ND; attending the rural school in the Germania township for 7 years, graduating the 8th grade from Streeter School.  She helped her parents on the farm milking cows and working in the fields with her dad.  She worked one summer for Ervin and Loretta Wolff before moving to Jamestown at age 18, working at White Drug uptown.

She and Gerald Schlaht were married May 1, 1965 at Gackle.  Arlene continued to work part time at White Drug and Whites Home Center while raising their children, Lorrie, Angela and Cory.  They were 12, 8, and 4 when their dad Gerald died from cancer April 27, 1978.

She and Gary Geisinger were married July 7, 2007, they made their home on Gary’s farm northwest of New Rockford, ND in the summer and Jamestown in the winter.  They also did a lot of traveling, spending time in places where they could dance was a plus.

She attended First Baptist Church in Jamestown, was a camp secretary for Modern Woodman of America for many years- planning activities and fundraisers.  She was executive officer of the Jamestown Board of Realtors in 1997 and was also active with the Jamestown Beginning Experience.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren in sports, traveling with friends and dancing.

Sad to hear of Arlene's passing, Arlene was married to my cousin Gerald Schlaht. Arlene made most of the Martel family funerals, and we would get a chance to visit. She was a very attractive lady, and always very friendly. God bless the family

I don’t really know quite what to say. I’ve known Arlene since she was 18 and I met her working at White Drug. I worked just down the street from there & would go there often for lunch. We became great friends and would see each other every tIme I returned home. I stayed at her home at times. To Gary & her children you have my thoughts & prayers always. I’ll always remember with love the 58-59 years of wonderful friendship.

Arlene is such a sweet person. We always had a lot of fun and laughs when we were together. Got to know Arlene really well when her daughter Lorrie was in my Sunday school class. Lorrie was then my flower girl in my wedding. Special memories with mother and daughter. Heaven just received a very special Angel. To Arlene’s family, you are in my thoughts and prayers always.

Arlene use to babysit me and they lived in a white corner house in the NW part of town. I played with Lorrie & Angie. Arlene & Gerald were very good friends with my parents, Katherine & Edward. They use to play board games. Lots of memories. Thoughts & Prayers to the family.🙏 Arlene always looked so beautiful.
