Obituary

Patricia Fischer, 73, Valley City, ND died Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Chandler Hospital in Chandler, AZ.

Pat was born on January 13, 1953 to Art and Esther Henke in Jamestown, ND. After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1971, she attended college at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND. She graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1973. She was working at the Jamestown Hospital when she met the love of her life, Erwin Fischer. The were married September 21, 1974. They were blessed with three children Becky, Chad and Tony. As a family they enjoyed camping, horseback riding, canoeing, boating, fishing, family camping and trips to Valley Fair.

Pat showered all her family and friends with deep love and kindness. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed attending many activities for her grandchildren. She loved making them quilts, scrapbooking pictures of fond memories and teaching them how to play Pinochle and Somba. She enjoyed teaching her family how to water ski and watch them master the water. Her happy place was at the cabin next to the lake.

Pat is survived by her husband of 51 years, Erwin; three children, Becky (Greg) Pfennig, Valley City, ND, and their four children, Trevan, Connar, Tricia, and Cambri; Chad (Laura) Fischer, Walcott, ND and their two children, Abbie and Eli; Tony (Buffee) Fischer, West Fargo, ND. and their three children, Charli, Brooke and Caden; two great grandchildren, K-3/Kevin and Amari (Brooke); three sisters, Annetta (Larry) Knecht, Kathy (Gary) Suko, and Lori (Jody) Woehl; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy; parents; brother, Larry Henke; parents-in-law, Ray and Olga Fischer and family friend, Reiny Iszler.

Celebration of Life- 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Grace Free Lutheran Church, 2351 W Main St, Valley City, ND, with Pastor Dennis Norby, officiating.
Livestream will be available on the Church's website- https://www.gracefree.com/watch-online

Interment- Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND, at a later date.

Arrangements- Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Erwin and family, I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Patty ( that is my memory of her) . Hold tight to all of the wonderful memories. Patty and I attended Franklin School as well as JHS. I have many great memories. i have five of the six class photos from Franklin School. Would you be interested in having a copy? As a little girl, I remember seeing Pat and Erwin in the front yard of our grandparents front yard. I didn’t know about love yet, but I knew they had something special. And, Pat obviously loved our grandparents and worries about them/took care of them.
