Sue made beautiful Forget Me Not bouquets for our wedding cake. She and Jim gave us stainless steel bowls which we still use daily. A gifted lady!

So many memories of Aunt Susie! At 6, she helped me find my food on a plate after eye surgery in Marquette. My eyes were bandaged for awhile making food hard to find and hard to get in my mouth! She had me imagine my plate like a clock and described what food was where. Example: peas were at 3 o’clock. That worked well. Family picnics in the U.P, gathering for my dad’s (Donald Rice) 91st birthday in Bessemer, and visiting me in Sitka, Alaska in 1985…and I’m still here. . I stopped by Jamestown twice when driving cross country. Ample food was at the ready to fill my belly and a comfy bed was ready to lay my cramped and exhausted body on after these marathon driving trips. Aunt Susie had a heart full of love, liberally shared with so many.

I was one of the friends and family that spent time at their home. I remember Jim and Susie making wontons and sitting around in the kitchen.

I remember Sue directing the children's choir at Trinity Lutheran. I was one of the kid's in the choir. She was good and kind with all of us.
