Gerald Lippert
July 02, 1938 - January 06, 2026
Obituary
Gerald Ruben Lippert was born on a farm south of Ashley, ND, July 2, 1938, to Jacob and Frieda (Rohrback) Lippert.
At a very young age, his grandmother predicted that he was going to become a mechanic because he took everything he got his hands on apart.
In 1949, the family moved to a farm south of Jamestown, where he attended rural school in Woodbury Township. He worked at West End Hide & Fur during his teen years. Later, as his grandmother predicted, he worked as a mechanic at R.E. Meidinger & Frederick, Inc. He learned the trade that would become his life's work at Tony's Electric.
On March 19, 1973, he opened Jerry's Electrical Repair and operated it for 46 years, retiring at age 81.
Besides all this work, he had many other passions. He loved music and played accordion and keyboard. For many years, the family spent summer weekends camping around the state. He also had a love for motorcycles. He did everything from hill climbing to riding his Harley to Sturgis for the rallies.
Thirty-four years ago, the pace slowed when he bought a cabin on the reservoir north of Jamestown and spent fun times fishing and boating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Frieda (Rohrback) Lippert, one brother, Jerome and grandson, Jerin Stroh.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Draeger) Lippert, his three children, daughters, Karmen (Paul) Stroh, Debora (Kurt) Jacobson; son, Todd; and granddaughter, Chelsea (Ben) Hill.
