Obituary

Lena Spitzer, 83, Streeter, ND died Tuesday evening July 12, 2005 at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND due to heart and kidney failure.

Lena Kirschenmann was born February 8, 1922 at the family farm SW of Streeter, ND the daughter of John Kirschenmann, Sr. and Magdalena (Graf) Kirschenmann. She attended the local school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Leo Spitzer were married on June 27, 1947 at Streeter, ND. They both worked at the State Bank of Streeter and in 1968 they purchased the bank which they owned and operated. Following the death of her husband December 4, 1986 she has continued to reside in Streeter and continued to help at the bank.

She was a member of the Hope United Church of Christ, Women's Guild and the American Legion Auxiliary all in Streeter, ND.

Surviving are her children, Veronica Strehle, Plymouth, MN, Colleen Becker, Baltimore, MD, Bryan (Glenna) Spitzer, Streeter, ND, 5 grandchildren, Max and Kara Strehle, Casey Becker, Kristin and Kyle Spitzer, 1 sister Bertha (Philip) Dewald, Streeter, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

The funeral service will be at 4:00 PM Sunday July 17, 2005 in the Hope United Church of Christ with Rev. Barbara Murray, Officiating pastor

Interment will be made in the Streeter City Cemetery, Streeter, ND

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Gackle, ND

Visitation 9-9 Saturday at the Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home in Gackle
