Hildegard Schmidt, 88, Streeter, ND died Wednesday October 12, 2005 at her home northwest of Streeter, ND.
Hildegard Clara Betsch was born February 11, 1917 at Streeter, ND, the daughter of Edward Betsch and Johanna (Kraft) Betsch. She received her elementary education in the local school and graduated from Streeter High School in 1934 and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Edwin Schmidt were married December 16, 1943 at Streeter, ND. They made their home on the family farm homestead NW of Streeter where they farmed until retiring and continued to help his son Rodney on the farm.
Following the death of Edwin on October 21, 2003 she has continued to reside on the farm.
She was a member of the Streeter United Methodist Church United Methodist Women's Club member, a member of the Streeter Homemakers, and a current member of the Faith Evangelical Church at Crystal Springs, ND.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney (Karen) Schmidt, Streeter, ND; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jonah, and Jackson Schmidt, Darren (Lori) Martel and Brandon (Jessica) Martel; 3 great grandchildren, Morgan, Annika and Hanna Martel, 1 son-in-law Bryan Reimnitz, Bismarck, ND;
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter Sharilyn in 2003 and 1 sister Viola.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Monday October17, 2005 in the United Methodist Church at Streeter, with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating.
Interment will be made in the Friedens Cemetery, NW of Streeter, ND.
Visitation: 1 - 9 Saturday and 10 - 9 Sunday at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Gackle, ND
