I am so sorry for the loss of your wife, mother, and friend. I have known Mavis for just a short time but we did enjoy some great "food" debates! I was also fortunate enough to share the kitchen with Mavis on several occasions when she cooked her famous meals for the staff. I enjoyed her company very much and will think of her every time I use one of her "tricks" in the kitchen. May God bless with His healing mercy. Linda Johnson Activities, AMV

lEON & fAMILY: SHARILYN AND I WERE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF MAVIS PASSING. WE HAD WORKED WITH HER ON THE FORT SEWARD WAGON TRAIN WHEN SHE WAS THE HEAD COOK FOR SEVERAL YEARS. SHE WAS SUCH A GOOD PERSON TO WORK WITH ONCE YOU GOT TO KNOW HER. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL OF YOU DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. BEST REGARDS, DON & SHARILYN BEEM

My sympathy goes out to Leon and his family for the loss of Mavis. I worked with Mavis at Central Dakota Village as one of the nurses when I lived in Jamestown, ND. I loved visiting with Mavis even when I returned for some visits. God Bless you Mavis, and rest in peace.
