Darlene Mae Kauk, 77, Lehr, ND died Tuesday morning June 16, 2009 at the Wishek Community Hospital in Wishek, ND.
Darlene Mae Werth was born August 18, 1931 on the family farmstead South of Lehr, ND, the daughter of Jacob Werth and Helen (Schrenk) Werth. She attended the local school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Calvin Kauk were married October 7, 1954 at Napoleon, ND. They made their home on a farm 7 miles North of Lehr, until 1957 when they moved to a farm 6 miles SW of Lehr where they resided and farmed. Following the death of her husband July 16, 1992 she continued to reside on the farm until 1997 when she moved into Lehr.
She attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lehr, ND.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Carla (Tim) Wetch, Bismarck, ND; 1 son, Robert (Karla Mittleider) Kauk, Bismarck, ND; 2 grandchildren, Callie Jo and Michaela Jane Kauk; 3 step grandchildren, Natalie, Amber and Adam; 1 step brother, Walter (Martha) Fiechtner, Bismarck, ND; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eddie (Verna) Kauk, Bismarck, ND; Harvey (Stella) Nagel, Lehr, ND; Raymond (Hilma) Kauk, Napoleon, ND; Adolph (Bernice) Kauk, Spearfish, SD; Maynard Kauk, Ann Grignon and Betty Kauk, all of Minneapolis, MN; Olga Kauk, Ashley, ND, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend Wilbur Quaiter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, Darvin.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday June 22, 2009 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lehr, ND with Pastor Matthew Miller, officiating.
The interment will be at Lehr Cemetery in Lehr, ND
