Obituary
Mildred Pauline Schmuhl, age 72, of Grantsburg, WI died July 24, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Polly was born on February 21, 1939 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Sebastian and Helen (Somsen) Bear. She attended school at Buchanan, graduated from Buchanan High School and later from the Wahpeton School of Nursing.
She married Edwin Schmuhl on March 8, 1958 at Jamestown, ND. She was a nurse at the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, ND for 27 years. She also helped run the family farm. Polly and Ed moved to Grantsburg WI in 1990. She worked at the Grantsburg clinic for nearly 10 years. She courageously battled many bouts of cancer.
She is survived by her husband Edwin, children Melody (Chris) Witzany, Grantsburg, WI: Kevin (Kim Nelson) Schmuhl, Big Lake, MN: grandchildren Cody (Mary Jo Roberts), Gabby, Chandler, Sarah and David. She is also survived by a sister Shirley Linstaedt, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 6 brothers.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday July 29, 2011 in the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
The burial will be in the Highland Home Cemetery at Jamestown, ND.
