Obituary

Irene Randall, 87, Jamestown, ND died Saturday November 19, 2011 at the Ave Marie Village in Jamestown, ND.

Irene Beckman was born March 30, 1924 at the family farm home west of Ypsilanti, ND, the daughter of Henry Beckman and Lena (Wittcopp) Beckman. She attended the local rural school and graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1942. He attended the Central Dakota Commercial College in Jamestown for 1 year. She later taught rural school for a few years.

She and Rolland (Bill) Randall were married October 18, 1942 at Neosho, MO. They made their home in California for a short time, then Bill was deployed to Europe and she moved back to Ypsilanti where she was a housewife. She and Lorraine Jorgenson operated the Valley Café in Ypsilanti from 1969 to 1970. Following the death of her husband in 1970 she continued to reside on the farm.

She and A.H. Van Dam were married November of 1971 at Phoenix, AZ. They made their home on a farm near Ypsilanti until 1987. They moved into Ypsilanti and later divorced. In 1994 she moved into Jamestown and entered the Ave Marie Village in November 2010.

She was a member of the Ypsilanti Lutheran Church, later the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown, was active in church activities, and the 50Plus Club in Ypsilanti.

She is survived by 4 children, Tim (Susie) Randall, Ypsilanti, ND; Thomas (Carol) Randall, Jamestown, ND; Joel Randall, Aberdeen, SD; Lisa (Ray) Silva, Mid Lothian, TX; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 1 sister.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday November 25, 2011 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Leon Zavadil, officiating.

Visitation - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wednesday @ the funeral home
9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Friday @ the funeral home

Irene was a strong woman who will be missed. I fondly remember and am grateful for her guidance and direction that she provided in my formative years. God bless Irene.

MY MOM AND I LOVED IRENE. SHE WAS SUCH A GOOD NIEGHBOR TO MY MOM.IRENE AND I WOULD SOMETIMES TALK ABOUT DECORATING,WE BOTH LOVED DOING IT. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, MY MOM PASSED AWAY ON JULY 18. IMISS HER ALOT AS I KNOW YOU WILL MISS IRENE. LOVE DEVARIS WEGNER.
