June Schlecht, 78, Gackle, ND died Friday February 7, 2014 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.
June Heupel was born December 10, 1935 at Wishek, ND the daughter of Arthur Heupel and Otellia (Diede) Heupel. She received her education at the local school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
June and Oliver Schlecht were married December 18, 1953 at Wishek, ND. They made their home on the farm south of Gackle where they farmed for 52 years. Following the death of her husband December 10, 2005 she continued to reside on the farm. In November of 2007 she moved to Jamestown. In November of 2011 she entered the Rock of Ages Nursing Home and continued to reside there.
She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown.
She is survived by 3 sons, Carey (Wanda) Schlecht, Wilmar, MN; Larry (Cheryl) Schlecht, Apple Valley, MN; Harry (Cathy) Schlecht, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters Kay (Larry) Hust, Jamestown, ND; Sarah (Steve) Oberlander, Jamestown, ND; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Kilsdonk, Tonya Thimons, Tiffany Swanson, Derek Hust, Lucas Schlecht, LaRissa Schlecht, Skyler Oberlander, Stacee Sandness, Brittany Schlecht, Samantha Schlecht, Emily Schlecht, Cody Schlecht; 6 great grandchildren, Jeramiah, Noah, Isabella, and Austin Swanson, Sam and Lila Kilsdonk; 1 brother, Haven Heupel, Balsom Lake, WI and 1 sister, Jane Diede, Wishek, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 infant son, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Funeral Service - 2:00 PM at Monday February 10, 2014 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Arlyn Coalter, officiating
Interment - Congregational Cemetery in Kulm, ND
