Zelda Herr

Zelda J. Herr, 78, Aneta, ND formerly of Jamestown, ND died Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND.

Zelda Jane Bartholomew was born on Nov 1, 1936 to Harold and Lorene (Gray) Bartholomew in Turin Iowa, at a young age then moved with her Mother (Lorene) to Tuttle North Dakota were she was raised by her mother and Step father Clifford Goldsmith. She received her elementary education in the local rural school near Tuttle, ND and graduated from the Tuttle High School in 1954. She then attended St. Mary's College in Bismarck where she received a Nursing Degree. She worked for Dr. Tudor at the Q & R Clinic in Bismarck, ND.

She and Harley Herr were married October 6, 1967 in Bismarck, ND. They made their home in Wishek where she worked for the Wishek Hospital and Wishek Nursing Home. In 1989 they moved to Jamestown where she was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital for 10 years when she retired has continued to reside in Jamestown. In 2012 they returned to Wishek and recently she was resident at the Parkview Health Care Center in Aneta.

Surviving are her husband, Harley, Wishek, ND, her children, Robin Eckman, Cooperstown, ND; Darcy Herr, Bismarck, ND, Jeff (Brenda) Herr, Casselton, ND,. Bruce (Stacey) Herr, Wishek, ND; Sheldon Herr, Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Lynnette Flemmer, Beulah, ND; Susie (Jim) Heidt Arena, ND; Wendy Campbell, Casper, WY; Tom Goldsmith, Tuttle, ND; Daniel Goldsmith, Lynden, WA, one sister-in-law, Marie Bartholomew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother George.

Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday December 11, 2014 in the Victory Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Shawn Bowman, pastor officiating.
There will be a short family service at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the Church.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Wishek City Cemetery, Wishek, ND
