Lance Patten, 48, died of a heart attack August 15, 2024 at his home in Jamestown ND.
Lance was born in Bismarck ND on October 17th, 1975. We grew up side by side facing life’s challenges together. We shared countless adventures and moved thru various schools. Lance ultimately received his high school diploma from Fargo North High School. Lance was known for his love of music. Particularly singing and songwriting with his guitars. His dedication to music was not just a hobby but a significant part of who he was.
He brought joy and inspiration to anyone that had the pleasure to listen or learn from him.
Lance was cremated as per his wishes.

Goin' back to 90s Bismarck ..., I met in Lance a veritable Tom Sawyer. He and I were great fans of the nightclub scene and Karaoke bowling alley. Lance was a dear friend, regular patron, and sometime music contributor at our family's One World Coffeehouse. At one pont, Lance was even recognized by a N Dakota America's Got Talent talent search !! Caroline Shaw , his beloved grandmother , fed us good home cookin' . Over the 30 odd years of our friendship, Lance would always brighten my spirits with songs 🎵 and jokes. A crowning memory was our spending a full day cruising Lake Sakakawea on a judge's private schooner.
You will be with me always, Lance - you and those "prepectuous junctures of validiquy." !!!
