Dear Lucille, family & friends of Delyle: Elsie and I pray for the blessing of the Lord's comfort for you in this time of sorrow and in the days to come. When we heed the invitation of Jesus our risen and ever living Lord and Savior to receive the forgiveness of our sin by faith in him, during our days here on earth, we have the wonderful comfort of knowing that we have a home in heaven waiting for us whenever our time of death may occur, as Jesus assures us when he said in John chapter 14, verses 1-2, "Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?" To claim this promise of Jesus for ourselves, we simply need to pray: "My faith looks up to thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior Divine! Now hear me while I pray, Take all my guilt away, O let from this day Be wholly thine. Amen! (Even if we can't speak these words, Jesus sees the look of faith.) Sincerely, your friends in Christ, Elwood and Elsie Skarpness, DeLamere, North Dakota
