Obituary

Ervin Labrensz, 88, Jamestown, ND died Thursday July 7, 2016 at Eventide in Jamestown.

Ervin was born May 1, 1928 at Fredonia, ND, the son of Rudolph and Mathilda (Mayer) Labrensz. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood in the area.

He and Bertha Veil were married June 18, 1950 at Streeter, ND. They made their home on a farm near Fredonia until 1945 when they moved into Jamestown where he worked at the Bridgeman Russell Creamery. In 1947 they moved to a farm 2 ½ mile south of Gackle where they farmed with his parents until 1963 when they moved to town. They continued to farm until 1985 when they moved into Gackle and their son Larry took over the farm. They worked as janitors at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church for 3 years and completely retired. In 2006 they moved to Jamestown.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle. When they moved to Jamestown they became members at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown. Ervin served on the Cemetery Board, the Gackle Fire Dept, and also the Gackle Ambulance. He also served as clerk of Finn Township for 30 years.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Bertha, Jamestown, ND; 3 children, Kathleen (Gary) Hieb, Medina, ND; Ronnie (Marilyn) Labrensz, Glyndon, MN: Larry (Peggy) Labrensz, Marshfield, WI; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Violet and 1 brother, Clifford.

Funeral Service - 10:30 AM Monday July 11, 2016 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Jamestown, ND with Pastor Lucinda Lien, officiating

Burial - Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND

Visitation - 1:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday @ the funeral home in Jamestown

Ervin was a salt of the earth hard working dairy farmer. a true goof guy. His family has a huge loss. My deepest sympathy. Rest in Peace
