Lorena Hillius, 91, Jamestown, ND died early Friday, February 10, 2017 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.

Lorena Presler was born November 28, 1925 on a farm near Fredonia the daughter of John Presler and Magdalena (Schulz) Presler. She grew up in Gackle, ND after the family moved there when she was four. She also spent time in Wenatchee, WA where she packed cherries and peaches.

She and Eldo Hillius were married October 28, 1945 at Gackle, ND. They farmed 15 miles SW of Streeter until 1957 when they moved to Jamestown. She worked at the Jamestown Hospital for 32 years until her retirement in 1989. After the death of Eldo in 2002, Lorena continued to reside in Jamestown; moving to Ave Maria in 2012.

Lorena enjoyed reading and embroidery and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND.

Lorena is survived by son, David Hillius, Jamestown, ND; daughter, DeLanda (Alden) Kollman, Jamestown, ND; 6 grandchildren, Lanny Rott, Brent Augspurger, Renee (Scott) Peterson, Garret Hillius, Colin Hillius and Heather (Kyle) Cedergren; 4 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Alvina (Aaron) Moldenhauer and half-sister, Emilie (Elmer) Erbele.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldo; son, Gary Hillius; daughter, Monica Augspurger; daughter in-law, Shelly Hillius; grandson, Sean Kollman; brothers, Luther and Ray Presler and half-sister Rose (Herman) Schrenk.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Jamestown Hospice or Ave Maria Village.
