Obituary

Alice Larson, 90, Jamestown, ND died Thursday, February 27, 2025 at SMP Health-Ave Maria in Jamestown.

Alice was born July 25, 1934, on the family farm Southeast of Gackle, ND, the daughter of Edwin and Esther (Karvonen) Holmstrom. She grew to womanhood in the area, attending the local schoolhouse.

She and Elmo Larson were married October 13, 1952 in Gackle, ND. They made their home on the farm Southeast of Gackle for one year and then moved to Buffalo, ND where Elmo was employed as a farm laborer. In 1956 they moved to Jamestown where she was a stay-at-home mom and did babysitting for families. 

Alice is survived by her son, Keith (Margy) Larson, West Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren, Tanner Larson, Taylor Larson, Jeremy Buchanan and Josh Buchanan, Great granddaughter, Kayleigh Buchanan; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Donna Buchanan; son, Ron; two brothers, Wesley and Arthur; 2 sisters, Violet Dewald and Gloria Loyland.


Funeral Service- 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Haut Funeral Home.

Visitation- 4-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home

Interment- Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown (in the spring)
