Obituary

David Flaig, 74, Jamestown, ND died Friday August 4, 2017 at the Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

David was born March 5, 1943 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Ralph and Olga (Brandenberger) Flaig. He attended school at Millarton and Jud, later receiving his GED.

He entered the US Army July 7, 1964 at Fort Leonardwood, MO. He served as a Medic at Fort Irvin, CA, and was discharged July 6, 1966 with the rank of E-4.

He returned to Alfred where he drove truck for Farmers Union Oil and Grain, Dwight Weist Trucking and Dave Vining Oil and later managed North Dakota Oil Company in Alfred.

He and Dawn Schmuhl were married December 11, 1987 at Gackle and made their home in Jamestown where he worked at the Stutsman County Road Dept. He retired in 2012 and continued to live in Jamestown.

He was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Jamestown and the Leno-Schlenker Post 295 American Legion in Alfred.

He is survived by his best friend, Dawn, Leonard, ND; 3 step children, Nick Schmuhl, Leonard, ND; Steve Schmuhl, Fargo, ND; Hope Wipf, Jamestown, ND; 5 grandchildren, Nathaniel Wipf, Adam Wipf, Cheyanne Wipf, Lindsey Schmuhl, Boston Schmuhl; 1 sister, Patricia (Greg) Stinogel, Waterford, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services - 11:00 AM Thursday August 10, 2017 at the First Nazarene Church, Jamestown, ND

Visitation - 9:00 - 7:00 Wednesday @ the funeral home
