Melinda and Herb, I have fond memories of being your neighbor in Gackle. I confess, it was me who stole apples off the apple tree outside your kitchen window. Your family was very kind to us in our time spent with Grace Baptist Church. i am sorry for your loss. Condolences-Palmer

I am thinking about you all at this time of loss. Herbert had a long life and we now should celebrate his life. It will be hard that he is gone but he is now at peace. He contributed a lot to the community of Gackle and was a upstanding citizen. We all should take a step back and see what life brought him in over a 100 years. Probably from horse & buggy days to high speed internet. How do those words get through that wire? I got to know Herbert when he and my Mom Alma were neighbors. Great neighbor and friend. I will miss him.

I feel very blessed to be counted as a granddaughter to such a wonderful man. Such a kind and interesting man who lived an extraordinary life. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Blessings and peace to Herbert's family. I am sure there are lots of memories from a great 102 year life.

Dad, I am on my way to see you again and share my last physical kiss good bye until we meet again in heaven. I miss you so much!!! You have brought so much joy to our family. I hope and pray that I have always been good by you. You will forever be my angel. Thanks for accepting me from day one. You and Mom has given me one of the blessing from God (Herbert Herman Jr.) I will forever honor your name. Please watch over us dad. Please help us follow your footsteps in life. Thanks for all your knowledge and guidance through these years. One of my promise to you was to take care of you when you needed me. I hope I did well. Lord knows I tried my best. I loved always to see you smile. My other promise to you is to keep our family together. I love you!!!
