Donna Buchanan

Donna Buchanan, 75, Jamestown, ND died late Monday, February 19, 2018 peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at the Sunset Drive-Prospera Community, in Mandan, ND.

Donna Weixel was born November 19, 1942 at Jamestown, ND the daughter of Alvin and Esther (Krieger) Weixel. She grew up on the family farm and went to school in Linton Township, later graduating from Jamestown High School in 1960.

Donna and Albert Lawrence Buchanan were married December 10, 1960 in Billings, MT. They made their home in Fargo until they moved to Sydney, ND. Following the death of her husband in 1980 she moved to Jamestown. In 1986 she moved to the family farm SE of Jamestown. Donna went to work at Western Gear in 1977 and took on another full-time job at Walmart in 1991. She retired from Western Gear in 2002, but went back to work in 2003. She fully retired from Walmart in 2006 after 15 years and from UTC (Western Gear) in 2016 putting in 38 years.

Donna was full of life, happy and had the greatest smile. Donna’s family and friends were most important to her; and we can’t forget the dog, Buddy.

Donna is survived by 3 children, Alvin (Robin) Buchanan, Jamestown, ND; Allen (Linda Stickel) Buchanan, Jamestown, ND; Denise (Craig) Adamsen, Grafton, ND; 1 daughter in-law Kellie Buchanan, Jamestown, ND; 22 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Alan (Darlene) Weixel, Montpelier, ND and Vern (Mikki) Weixel, Drayton, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 children, Albert & Geneal.

Interment will be at Highland Home Cemetery- Jamestown, ND in the Spring.
