Obituary
Sylvia Koenig, 75, Gackle, ND died Monday July 2, 2018 at Eventide in Jamestown, ND.
Sylvia Spitzer was born July 16, 1942 at Forbes, ND, the daughter of Harold Spitzer and Lucille D. (Merkel) Spitzer . She received her elementary education in the local school graduating from the Forbes High School.
She and Archie Koenig were married July 24, 1960 at Forbes, ND. They made their home on a farm NW of Gackle where they farmed and raised their family.
Sylvia was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND, ELCW, taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years, secretary of the PTA, Griffin Township board and Stutsman County Officers Assoc.
Surviving are her husband Archie, Gackle, ND her children, Rhonda (Loyal) Tompkins, Jamestown, ND; Todd Koenig, Bismarck, ND; Craig (Lynn) Koenig, Bismarck, ND; twins, George (Tammy) Koenig, Gackle, ND; James (Kim) Koenig, Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Della (Clarence) Wolff, Carrington, ND; Lucy (Leland) Gayman, Ellendale, ND; half brothers and sisters, Harold and Judy Spitzer, Doris Estes, Kenny and Elaine Spitzer, Darrell and Frances Spitzer, Patty and Rick Schirman, Barbara Reynolds, Brian and Bonnie Jones, Jennifer and Jay Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday July 7, 2018 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Rick Steele, pastor officiating.
Visitation 10-5 Friday at the Haut Funeral Home in Gackle, ND
Prayer Service will be at 7:00 PM Friday at the Church in Gackle.
Interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND
In Lieu of Flowers the family prefers Memorial to the
Roger Maris Cancer Center, 820 4th St N, Fargo, ND 58102
