Wilbert Schweigert

Wilbert Schweigert, 94, Lehr, ND died Monday July 2, 2018 at his home North of Lehr, ND.

Wilbert was born March 3, 1924 on the family farm Northeast of Lehr, ND the son of Andrew and Justina (Gill) Schweigert. He attended the local country school and helped on the farm.

He and Martha Kanewischer were married November 2, 1944 at Kulm, ND. They made their home on her family farm 10 miles north of Lehr where they farmed. Following the death of his wife, May 14, 2011, he continued to reside on the farm.

Wilbert loved fishing, his dog he called Puppy, and visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by 4 children, LeRoy (Marian) Schweigert, Lehr, ND; Joyce Nelson, Lehr, ND; Denise (Gary Bertsch) Schweigert, Ashley, ND; Gary Schweigert, Mandan, ND; 5 grandchildren, Crystal (Todd) Peplinski, Ashley, ND; Jorel (Maricris) Peplinki, Fargo, ND; Jodi (Chip) Holland, Fargo, ND; Nathan (Nicole Schweigert, Minnetonka, MN; Jessica Schweigert, Bismarck, ND and 5 great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
