Obituary

Sharla K. Matteson, 72, Jamestown, ND died early Tuesday morning, August 21, 2018 at her home near Jamestown.

Sharla Hopland was born March 9, 1946 at Jamestown, ND the daughter of Emil Hopland and Ruth Emma (Burleson) Hopland. She received her elementary education in the local school and graduated from the Jamestown High School in 1964.

She and Danny Matteson were married June 5, 1964 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where she worked at Trinity Hospital as a surgery aid. They moved to Fargo where she worked at Dakota Hospital in Maternity. In 1977 they moved to Billings, MT where she was employed as an Office Manager for Sears. In 2000 they moved to Rapid City, SD until 2005 when they returned to Jamestown where they have resided.

Surviving are her husband, Danny, Jamestown, ND two sons, Jay Matteson, Tower City, ND; Mark (Shelly) Matteson, Albany, OR; 1 daughter, Cindy King, Albany, OR, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Larry (Sue) Hopland, Lisbon, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson, Tucker.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday August 25, 2018 at the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

My grandma was the matriarch of our family she was also my shoulder to lean on she helped raise me
