Hans C. Bjone, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday October 22, 2018 at Eventide in Jamestown, ND.

Hans was born February 20, 1927 in LaMoure County the son of Christ and Ella (Anderson) Bjone. He attended school in the LaMoure and Fort Ransom area.

He and Linda Skonseng were married October 12, 1950 at Fort Ransom. They spent their lifetime farming and raising hogs and cattle near Fort Ransom. In 1978, Hans and Linda were awarded the Ransom County Soil Conservation Award. In 2000 they moved to Valley City until 2010 when they moved to Jamestown. For the last two years Hans resided at Eventide in Jamestown and the family thanks all the staff for the excellent care given to him.

He was a member of the Standing Rock Lutheran Church in Fort Ransom and the Eagles Club. They just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. They spent many Friday and Saturday nights dancing with friends. Hans started playing accordion and piano at the age of 15 and he played with a local band for over 60 years. He also enjoyed gardening, planting fruit trees, and trapping.

Surviving are his wife Linda, Jamestown, ND; three daughters, Genene (Richard) Colbert; Delaine (Dick) Schmidt, all of Jamestown, ND; Vickie (Steve) Ross, Valley City, ND; three sons, Russell Bjone; Chris (Linda) Bjone, all of Jamestown, Darrel (Crystal) Bjone, Ft Ransom, ND; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 brother Lyle Bjone, Enderlin, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter-in-law, Linda L Bjone, his brothers Morris and Vernon, 1 sister Ardella Skonseng.

My deepest sympathy to all of Hans's family. I have lots of fun memories with the Bjone family. As cousins we all had music and dancing in our blood and always enjoyed his accordion playing. He lived a good life.
