Obituary

Shirley {Rae} Jasken went home to be with our Lord Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the early afternoon. She passed away in her sleep peacefully and ended a long battle of health complications.

Shirley Rae Jasken was born to Bob and Dorice Runyon on January 25th, 1956 in Lakeland Florida. As a young child she enjoyed life in Stanley, ND. Shirley remarried in 1982 to Bernie Jasken on December 18th where they have shared life’s adventures for the past 36 years. They were long time residents in Gackle, ND.

While living in Gackle, both Shirley and Bernie enjoyed many years helping and assisting community residents and friends, cooking holiday meals for many and sharing her beautiful flower gardens with those stopping by.

My heart sank when I heard that Shirley had passed away. She's fought so many battles over the years, she was one tough lady,my hero! My only hope is that she's now pain free and living life to the fullest beyond her wildest dreams. I'm so happy I got to see her and visit several times over the past few years, I'll miss her! Rest in Peace now Shirley! You deserve it!

So very, very sorry. Shirley was an inspiration to me, fighting hard for what most take for granted. I'm sure she's walking through heaven's beautiful fields of flowers in God's presence, alongside Dad.

There are no words to express my love for you! I will cry a million tears but it won't bring you back. What a strong person you were through the numerous years. Never giving up and somehow we were blessed to keep you with us longer than perhaps you even wanted thru your struggle. I know you were tired and so did God! Hard to let you go but now I have you watching over me. Feel free to take over at any time my dear sister. lol Your guidance and support I will hold in my heart forever. Love you Shirley and what an honor and privilege to be able to take you home this summer to your final resting place at mile marker 2. XOXOXOXO
