Obituary

Linda Kay Schott, 67, Moorhead, MN, passed away surrounded by her loving family at Essentia Hospital on August 13, 2019.

Linda, daughter of John and Alma Schott, was born May 3rd, 1952 in Jamestown.  She grew up on the family farm and went to school in Gackle, ND, then attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.

After college, Linda moved to Dallas, TX, where she worked for Western Union for 14 years.  In 1987 Linda moved back to Moorhead, MN where she began employment at Archie’s in Dilworth, for several years.  She then worked at ABC Seamless Siding, Fargo, before starting her own accounting business.  Over the years, Linda acquired several loyal clients and local firms.  After retiring on Juneteenth, 2019, Linda enjoyed every minute of it.  There wasn’t a lot of spare time for Linda in retirement, she generally slept in to at least 6am and then was busy with lunch and lake dates.

Linda just loved her life and spending time with friends and family, and we all loved to be around her!  She was known for her sense of humor and infectious laugh.  Linda was quite the prankster, she loved to tease people, and make them smile. But what made Linda smile the most was playing and enjoying time with her great-niece Rhyan, aka, “Little Bit.”  She loved to watch tennis, play cards, especially pinochle, and loved to win!  Linda was a true gift and defied the odds the Doctor’s gave her.  She was a very strong woman in spirit, but in the end, she just could not hold on any longer and she will truly be missed.

She is survived by her brother, Wallace (Brenda Nitschke) Schott, Fargo, a niece, Stacia Sanders, Jamestown, a nephew, Nathan Schott, Fargo, and a great-niece, Rhyan Alma Schott, Fargo, ND.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma (Janke) Schott, Gackle, ND.
