Obituary

Jodi Lynn (Hegle) Sanders, 56, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday afternoon September 5, 2019 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jodi Hegle was born March 27, 1963 at Fargo, ND the daughter of Gary and Sharon (Rieniets) Hegle.   She received her elementary education in Fargo graduating from Fargo North in 1981.  She then attended NDSU and was employed by Buttrey-Osco in Fargo.  She graduated from Minot State University.

She and Tom Sanders were married March 19, 1988 in Fargo, ND.  They made their home in Jamestown.  She was a stay at home Mom until her kids were in High School.   She then worked at Alpha Opportunities until 2017 when her health started to decline.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Jodi was a kind, genuine, giving and patient person.  A true nurturer and natural caregiver, Jodi is an inspiring example of all things good; mostly her genuine love, honesty, and patience with all those she came to know. She also showed courage in the very face of adversity.  Over the past years, she has changed all of our lives in so many ways; teaching us all to simply appreciate each day, every moment you have with your family, friends and loved ones. She simply brought a smile to your face in any encounter you had with her. Jodi lived for and enjoyed many things, like traveling, Nascar, Baseball, the lakes, her family, and of course her pets.

Surviving are her husband, Tom, Jamestown, ND; her daughter, Brittany (Tyler Riedesel)Sanders; her son  Ryan Sanders, all of Fargo, ND;  her parents, Gary and Sharon Hegle, Fargo, ND; her maternal grandmother, Lois Rieniets, Fargo, ND; three sisters, Julie (Rick) Fletcher, Ottertail, MN; Jill Hegle, Fargo, ND; Jami (Matt) Olson, Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Paige Martin, Luke, Logan and Olivia Olson; her mother and father-in-law, Walt and Marcia Sanders, Detroit Lakes, MN;  one sister-in-law, Shari (Tracy) Hoffmann, Eagan, MN; niece and nephew, Kristi and Tony Hoffman; one brother-in-law, Trev Sanders, Fargo, ND.

While those of us left to mourn her loss think she departed us much to soon, we are confident that she was precisely packed for her final journey and place of rest. God has simply gained another beautiful Angel.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Greg; paternal and maternal grandparents, Henry Rieniets and Neil and Mildred Hegle.

Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 11, 2019 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Susan Haukaas, officiating.

I met Jodi many years ago when we both took water aerobics and our children were just babies. Through the years I always enjoyed running into Jodi and wed catch up on where our kids were at. She was kind and pleasant. A life taken too young; but she is at peace and suffers no more pain. Prayers to Tom and the family.
