Vickie Larson

Vickie Rae Larson, 62, Oakes, ND died September 7, 2019 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.

Vickie Gumke was born October 16, 1956 the daughter of Eileen and Raymond Gumke at Gackle, ND.  She lived in Gackle until she was 10 when the family moved Edmonds, WA.  She graduated from Meadow Dale High School in 1974.  After high school she went to work for Hartford Insurance as a receptionist.

She resided in Washington until 1986 when she moved to Gackle, ND; while in Gackle she was an EMT with the local Ambulance.  She and Larry Larson were married in 1991 at Gackle, ND.  They continued to reside in Gackle until they were divorced in 2004; at that time Vickie joined the Red Cross helping out with the Hurricane Katrina disaster.  After New Orleans she moved to Mississippi and then Louisiana where she was a waitress and manager of a restaurant.  She moved back to Oakes in 2016 where she has resided.

Vickie loved her family and spending time with her grandson.  In her free time she enjoyed reading, puzzles, and was an avid Vikings fan.  Throughout her life no matter where Vickie went people loved her and welcomed her.

Vickie is survived by her son, Joseph and daughter Elizabeth; 1 grandson, Bryan; Marlys Spence and Corinne Haugen, Moses Lake WA;  Rod and Jan Gumke, Las Vegas, NV;  Ron and Cindy Gumke, Millville, CA; Clinton and Cheryl Gumke, Fargo, ND; Kevin and Kathy Gumke, Quincy WA; Dale and Holli, Gumke York, PA; Sandy and David Feland, Steele, ND, a special friend Larry Larson; 1 aunt Marion Montgomery and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and sister in-law, Clyde (Linda) Gumke; 1 step-son, Steven and 1 brother in-law Kenneth Kinzler.
