Darin & Jon,
I remember, as your Dad's little sister, it was my job to wash his fancy, cool car every week. He always paid me two quarters. Until........one day my foot became confused about the placement of the gas pedal and brake pedal, sending me right smack into the big old gas pump (knocking it over while redesigning the front of that classy black car). He never scolded me. In fact, he never even said one word about it. I now realize it wasn't necessary to lock myself in the bathroom in fear. I don't remember getting paid that day. But after that, I included cleaning the interior each time for no additional charge.
I also remember, as a little kid, going rabbit hunting with him at night. I really liked those cute rabbits and wasn't fond of that activity. But, it made me feel important to be asked to spend that time with him. My job was to hold the spotlight. Sometimes I would (accidentally?) move the light just as he was about to take aim. Yes, one more rabbit saved.
I will miss my "Chuckie". Rest in peace, dear Brother. May God bless our family with beautiful memories.
Hugs and love to you and your families.
