Obituary

Donna Narlock, 88, of Mandan, ND, and formerly of Jamestown, ND, went to be with Jesus, Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Sunset Drive Nursing Home, Mandan.

Donna Marie was born April 24, 1937, in Grafton, ND, the daughter of Sylvester and Effie (Duray) Lizakowski.

She grew up and attended school in Ardoch, ND. She married Daniel Joseph Narlock on September 22, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Church in Ardoch, ND.

Donna held various jobs throughout her lifetime, but the most important calling in her life was to be a mother and care for her family.

She enjoyed visiting with immediate and extended family. She loved to keep a journal and read her Bible. Her joy was in Jesus and serving Him. Before moving to Mandan, she faithfully attended Hope Church, an apostolic church in Jamestown.

She took great delight in keeping up with birthdays and special occasions of her family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, sending greeting cards loaded with pictures.

Donna is survived by her seven children, Kenneth and Marvin Narlock, both of Shawano, WI; Effie (Ken) Hodek, Marble Falls, TX; Brenda (Jon) Kemmis, Watertown, SD; Daniel T. (Ellie Henry) Narlock, Manchester, TN; Sylvester, (Kimberly) Narlock, West Terre Haute, IN; Bradley (Tammy) Narlock, Nikiski, AK; 34 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Daniel J. Narlock and two sisters, Theresa Mozinski and Mary Ann Lizakowski.

My sympathy & prayers to all of you . Donna was a very special lady. I’ll always remember that her and Danny’s anniversary was on June and my birthday . Yes she did send cards and pictures and I enjoyed them very much. Keeping up with everybodyShe is now in her eternal home and heaven, is celebrating.

When I think of Grandma Narlock, two words come to mind: love and strength. She was a person who loved to pray, love her family, and be around people. She would light up whenever family members came to visit her. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to not only meet her but also get to know her. I love her with all my heart. My children loved her too, and she loved them back. I am so thankful for not only her love but also for the strength she possessed. She had an extraordinary strength, and when combined with her love, she became a strong and loving role model. I am so glad that she not only taught her family the importance of love but also instilled in them the strength to overcome obstacles and navigate through life’s ups and downs. I cherish the memories we made together and the time we spent with her. Those memories will forever be etched in my heart. The scripture I read today perfectly matched her character. It can be found in Psalm 18:1-2: "I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." We love you, Grandma, and your legacy and memories will be kept alive.
