Dora Walters, 87, Wishek, ND died Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at her home in Wishek.
Dora Irene was born February 21, 1938 in Tornow, Germany, the daughter of Max and Paulina (Walhke) Thieme. She grew up in the area. Following schooling she became a secretary in Switzerland.
She and Steven Walters were married in August of 1961. The family moved around a lot over the years.
Dora had a passion for gardening and loved to spend time with her dog, Benji.
Dora is survived by her daughter, Bernice, Burnsville, MN; 4 grandchildren; and one sister, Kaethe (David) Wikkoff, Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and 1 daughter, Janet Haugen.
Interment- Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN, next to her husband.

I first met Dora this past spring when I was in Wishek with my Dad. I so enjoyed visiting with her. She loved to tell her stories and she was such a spunky little lady!! She stopped over to visit several times while I was there. She had a beautiful garden and yard that she took so much pride in. I was saddened to hear the news that she had passed. Bernice, you have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful lady and my family loved her very much. She cleaned for us when she lived in Bismarck. My son would ride on the canister when she vacuumed. We visited her once in Wishek. She had a lovely home and was so excited to show us around. We will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
