Obituary

Kenny Getz, Jamestown, ND died Saturday morning, April 17, 2021 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

I, Kenny Getz, age 68, was born September 30th, 1952 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota to Eugene and Irene (Feist) Getz. I grew up on the family farm in rural Strasburg, ND helping my parents raise crops and milk cows. I am the oldest of seven children, was followed by six sisters. After battling many health issues, I passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND on April 17th, 2021.

I attended Strasburg Public School graduating in 1971. On September 30th, 1972 I married Patty Lipp, residing in Bismarck and had two children together. While in Bismarck, I worked for Acme Welding and moved to Jamestown in 1986 where I managed Praxair until retiring in 2016. On May 18th, 1991, I married Terri Prigge residing in Jamestown until my passing.

I really enjoy spending time with family and friends, of which there are many. If I am teasing you, it is only because I care. My favorite things to do are camping and deer hunting. I am always up for a good campfire, beer and beating anyone at a game of Pinochle.

I am survived by my wife Terri and my two sons, Brian, and Keith (Kristi) Getz. One granddaughter Brittney Marie (Billy) Getz and great grandchildren Dominic, Nova, and Trinity. A Big Brother to my sisters Gerry (George) Feist, Dorothy (Blaine) Doppler, Barb (Greg) VanBeek, Mary (Lynn) Henke, and Norma Getz. In laws Deb Bertsch, Scott Prigge, Brad (Peggy) Prigge, Sue (James) Rainey, Wayne (Amy) Prigge, and Becky (Kelly) Jensen. Along with many wonderful Nieces and Nephews and my best friend since high school Tim (Arlene) Heidrich.

Family members I have lost are my father Eugene and my mother Irene. My sister Connie Meakins and her son John. As well as many of my cherished Aunts and Uncles.

I will never forget your fun loving witty personality. Your funny comebacks, comments and jokes I will never forget and forever miss, especially when you told Mom, "sneaky Pete" when you had a higher trump card in Pinochle. I love you my brother and I will think of you always. Peace be with you Kenny. Thanks for the fun!!!

To the family of Kenny Getz: I was saddened to hear of Kenny's passing. I had heard he had been sick and sounds like he has had a battle with health issues. I went to Strasburg Public High School and Kenny was one year behind me. I remember his sense of humor and of course we liked to tease him about being the only boy in his family with all of his sisters! :) You all have my sympathy and prayers, esp. in the days ahead. May you each hold onto the "special" memories of "Kenny." My heart goes out to your family, as you have all been through so much. With my heartfelt sympathy and continued prayers for you all, Jan (Dykema) Gilchrist

Terri,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Kenny was such a great guy. You both were such dear friends with my grandparents and you have no idea how much that means to me. They loved you both so much. I know they're taking good care of him upstairs. Thinking of you.
