Obituary

Ivan ‘Buddy’ Rivinius, 70, Gackle, ND died Tuesday April 20, 2021 due to a farm accident.

Ivan was born February 12, 1951 at Jamestown, ND the son of Conrad and Frieda (Miesch) Rivinius. He attended school at Gackle and graduated from Gackle High School in 1969.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed growing corn, traveling to national parks and seeing God’s country.  He was a proud North Dakotan who loved America and attending the Medora Musical each year.  Ivan loved going on drives with Rita while looking at all the crops and wildlife.  He also loved his cats, but above all he loved God the most and always showed and taught Slay and Sieara how important it was to have a personal relationship with him.

Ivan is survived by his wife Rita, 2 children, Slay Rivinius, and Sieara (Chance) Hondl, Dickinson, ND; 1 granddaughter, Asuna; and 1 brother, Merril Rivinius, Bismarck, ND.
