Obituary

Clinton G. Rau, 80, Arvada, CO,  Mechanic, tractor and aviation enthusiast, lover of God, family and country passed away on Monday September 20, 2021 succumbing to Covid complications in a Denver area hospital.  He is preceded in death by his parents Reinhold and Frieda Rau of Streeter and survived by his wife, Bernice (Mertz), Daughter Karla Batelaan and sons Perry and Rickey. HIs two sisters, JoAnn Wieland and Norma Nelson along with his many nieces and nephews will bitterly miss him and his enthusiastic approach to life and seemingly boundless energy.

Clint was born near Napoleon on December 2, 1940 before growing up on the family farm west of Streeter nd enlisted in the US Navy in 1963.  After service ended in 1968 he and his young family moved to Minneapolis where he grew a successful truck and trailer repair business.  He “retired” in Arvada, CO but continued to spend his time pursuing his passion of rebuilding tractors and restoring his beloved 1960 Impala while driving over the road trucks deep into is 70’s.

Please join friends and family at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Streeter, ND on Friday, October 1 at 11AM for a service and burial at Streeter Cemetery followed by a lunch.

JoAnn and Norma, so sorry to hear of Clinton's passing. He was always a good classmate at Streeter High and one of a few classmates I was able to keep in contact with. It seems whenever I got to the Buffalo supper he was there and if it hadn't been for Covid would have seen him at the Alumni reunion last summer. God's Peace and Comfort to you and your families.
