Obituary

Laura Jean Rott, 65, Jamestown, ND died early Friday morning May 27th, 2022 at Eventide in Jamestown.

Laura Rott was born December 6th, 1956 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Virgil Rott and Shirley (Hollingsoworth) Rott. She received her elementary education in the local school, graduating from Edgeley High School.  Following graduation, she attended college for a time at NDSU.  She married Bill Dittus, Fredonia, ND and they resided in Nortonville. They're son, Wade Dittus, divides his time between Jamestown and Bismarck.

She loved animals and had numerous pets throughout her life who greeted her on the rainbow bridge upon her arrival home.  With no destination in mind, she always ended up somewhere on an adventure.  She always had the willingness to fix anything and would help anyone, whether broken or not, therefor she acquired the nickname "Tinkerbell". She loved cukoo clocks, though not all of them made noise after she "fixed" them.

Laura is survived by her son Wade Dittus, Jamestown,ND; her mother Shirley Rott, Jamestown; siblings Dwight (Cindy) Rott, Dawson, ND; Leland (Deb) Rott, Nortonville, ND; Linda Steffes, Edgeley, ND; Julie Brady (Randy Procriv), Dickinson, ND; Neil Rott, Nortonville, ND; several nieces and nephews and special friend Tim.

She was preceded in death by her father in 2007, a great-niece and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2nd at the United Methodist Cemetery in Nortonville, ND.  Lunch and fellowship will follow the service at the Church in Nortonville.

I was thinking of Laura the other day wondering how she was doing. I used run the animal pound in Fargo and had many opportunities to visit with her. She had a big heart for her furry friends. My condolences to the family.
