Darlene Elsner, 84, Gackle, ND died Wednesday April 19, 2023 at her home in Gackle

Darlene was born November 25, 1938 at Gackle, ND, the daughter of William and Ottilia (Morlock) Bier. After the death of her parents, she was raised by Ludwig and Alvina Mayer. She attended school at Gackle and graduated from Gackle High School in 1956.

She and Lloyd Elsner were married December 25, 1959 at Valley City, ND. They made their home there where she worked for Bell Telephone. In 1970 they moved to Portland, OR where she worked as an Emergency Room Administrator for an area hospital. They moved to Gackle in 2004 for their retirement.

Darlene was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, ELCW, Homemakers Quilting and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, Gackle, ND; 3 children, Dirk Elsner and Kevin Elsner, both of Wilton, ND; Renae Devaul, Richardton, ND, 2 grandchildren, Nichole Fleming and Jessica Elsner; 1 sister, Viona (Dan) Fiala, Scribner, NE; 1 step brother, John Mayer, Jamestown, ND.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
