Edris Miller

Edris Miller, 86, Gackle, ND died Wednesday May 10, 2023 at the Gackle Care Center.

Edris DeWitt was born September 4, 1936 at Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Alvin and Christina (Remboldt) DeWitt. She attended school at Alfred for 2 years and then Gackle Public School and graduated from Gackle High School in 1954.

She and Norman J. Miller were married June 13, 1954 at Gackle, ND. They made their home on the farm from 1954 – 1991. Edris worked at the ND State Hospital from October 1991 – January 2002 when she retired. They continued to live in Gackle. Following the death of Norman in 2007, she continued to live in Gackle.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Baptist Gleaners, and the Gackle Senior Citizens.

Edris is survived by her 5 children, Barbara (Ardell) Schmidt, Gackle, ND; Tracy Miller, Gackle, ND; Rosalyn (Bruce) Buck, Fargo, ND; Nona (Steven) Blaisdell, Beulah, ND; Kyle (Sarah) Miller, Bismarck, ND; 9 grandchildren, Dawn (Darryle) Stein, Nicole (Shane) Olson, Mandy (Dean) Garrett, Ben (Samantha) Buck, Mackenzie (Olivia) Buck, Cody Blaisdell, Katlyn (Chase Bohlander) Blaisdell, Tyrell (Mikaela Long) Miller, Jenna (Nick Harrom) Miller, 14 great grandchildren, Landen Veil, Alexandrew Schmidt, Kyler Thigpen, Hayden Thigpen, Riley Basaraba, Alivia Stein, Brady Schmidt, Ellayna Olson, Jace Olson, Emmitt Buck, Matalie Buck, Finley Buck, Hendrik Buck, Dominik Buck, 2 step-grand-daughters, Shannon (Chris) Blaisdell, Angie (Joey) Nelson, 5 step great grandchildren, Donavon (Jess) Stover, Devon Stover, Cody (Sydney) Nelson, Braydon and Cassidy Nelson, 3 step great great grandchildren, Nash, Cooper, Madden Nelson and her fur baby, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 grandson Cole Michael Buck and 1 granddaughter, Nina C. Holmstrom.
