Obituary

 

Naomi Nagel, 88, Jamestown, ND died Sunday May 14, 2023 at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Naomi was born November 2, 1934 at Danzig, ND, the daughter of Christopher Jr and Christina Janke. She attended the local rural school NW of Lehr, ND, where she received her elementary education.

She and Willis C. Nagel were married November 30, 1951 at Ashley, ND. They made their home on a farmstead SE of Lehr until 1954 when they moved to Lead, SD until 1959. They moved to Jamestown where she started working at Trinity Hospital. Naomi later worked the at the ND State Hospital for a short time until going to work at Central Dakota Nursing Home as a CNA and Physical Therapist for 23 years and retired in 1992. They continued to live in Jamestown.

Naomi was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown. She was always helping people. Naomi was good at canning and making German food, especially her Kuchen, and loved family gatherings. She and Willis also enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Willis, Jamestown, ND; 6 children, Cynthia (David) Thoreson, Nome, ND; Debra (Timothy) Brehm, Baldwin, ND; Clair (JoAnn) Nagel, Reno, NV; Carey Nagel, Jamestown, ND; Tammy (Lonnie) Reuer, Jamestown, ND; Daphne Nagel, Jamestown, ND; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Kimberly, brother, Arthur Janke and sister, Lorraine Gieszler.
