Obituary

Merlyn Beyer, 75, Montpelier, ND died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his home near Montpelier.

Merlyn was born March 26, 1948 at Montpelier the son of Emil and Goldie Virginia (Hara) Beyer. He grew up on the family farm, graduating from Montpelier High School in 1966. Following high school he moved to Hillsboro, OR where he began to drive truck. He moved back to ND in 1988 where he started MJ Beyer Trucking. He continued to reside in Montpelier and drive truck until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed collecting cars.

Merlyn is survived by his children, Julie (Frank) Kemper; Rick; Chris; Ronald; and John; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Rosemary Wint; niece, Tina; 4 nephews, Jeff (Erika) Beyer, Wayne Christenson, Gary Christenson and Keith Christenson; his life partner, Sue Davis; her children, Cassy Oviatt, Sheldon Oviatt, Dusty Whipple & Ashley Michaelson; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Walter Beyer.

Celebration of Life- 5:00-7:00pm Saturday June 10, 2023 at the Litchville Community Center in Litchville, ND

Burial- Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND

Hi everybody! Sorry for your loss. Merlyn went with uncle Mark to buy his 57 Ford, a car we loved and miss. I remember his limitless knowledge of anything that had a motor in it. I remember that he was a killer pool player. He is part of many good memories made at Sohler get-togethers and he gave us Julie, Rick, Chris, Ron and John plus a passel of great nieces and great nephews. RIP Merlyn!
