I met Jim when I was the Property Manager of Legacy Place in Jmst ND. I loved visiting with Jim n Rose. They were such friendly people. I remember the year Jim took on the task of making window screens for other tenants. Always kind and thoughtful. God Bless the life of Jim. Laurie McGuire

I first met Jim many years ago when his son David and I became friends at Winship Elementary School in Grand Forks. He was always welcoming (he put up with me hanging around the Kleins' house a lot!) and friendly with an awesome sense of humor. Best of all, he was a great dad to his kids--and when you're a kid, you know who the truly good parents are. I didn't see him as much after high school, but I know he continued to play that same wonderful, kind, nurturing and funny role in the lives of his children, grandchildren and the next generation. A truly wonderful man who made the lives of those around him better. My deepest condolences to everyone who loved him.

The very first visit that I had with Jim was along 5th street as he was out for his daily walk. I was on my trike and I stopped to visit with him. He wanted to know everything about my Catrike, how it worked and how did I like it over a regular bike. We continued to have many visits and emails about city issues and concerns about snow on the sidewalk so he could continue his walks. I wish that I could have known him for more than just three years. What a blessing to have known Jim and his great outlook on life.

I met Jim and Rose (and their children) when they moved in a couple years after I bought my house in GF. Such wonderful people! It was a pleasure to have them as neighbors. Sometimes I would forget Jim was blind. One time Dave came over to ask me to help Jim site a volleyball net for them. Next thing I knew, I was holding one of the posts with Jim standing on a chair pounding it in (thinking something is wrong with this picture - I am holding a post for a blind guy to pound with a sledgehammer). Enjoyed watching you kids grow up (remember Charlie Crocodile and Ali Alligator in my pool [and the Squid on the bottom]). Missed all of you so when Jim moved to Bathgate. My sympathies and blessings to Rose and all of you.
