Deloris J. Schroeder, 85, Edgeley, ND died Friday October 27, 2023 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Edgeley.

Deloris was born April 27, 1938 at home on the family farm, the daughter of John and Amelia (Suko) Gohner. She attended the local rural school and later graduated from Jud High School in 1955. She then attended Valley City State College where she received her degree in teaching. Deloris taught school for 2 years.

She and Lloyd Schroeder were married November 27, 1958 at the Church of God 7th Day in Alfred, ND. They made their home in the Gackle area until moving to Lincoln, NE where they lived for about 10 years. She worked for Pepsi and also worked out of her home. They moved back to Montpelier, ND and in 1972 they moved to the farm south of Alfred where they Dairy farmed. She also worked at the gift shop at the Frontier Fort. In 2015 they moved to Edgeley. Following the death of her husband in 2016, she continued to live in Edgeley and in February of 2023 she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Kevin Dais.

Deloris and her husband Lloyd love spending time with their family and also loved traveling together.

Deloris is survived by her children, Terri (Kevin) Dais, Edgeley, ND; Jacki Lippert, Lincoln, NE; Richard Schroeder, Enderlin, ND; 3 grandchildren, Adam (Allie) Lippert and Kyle Lippert, and Alex (Anna) Dais; 2 great grandchildren, MaKenna and Cooper Dais; and 1 sister, Judy Mickelson, Jamestown, ND; 2 sisters-in-law, Mavis Gohner and Phyllis Gohner; 2 brothers-in-law, Duane Schroeder and Gordon Schlenker; and 1sister-in-law, Linda Schroeder.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, 5 sisters.

 

The family would like to thank the Red River Valley Hospice team for the wonderful care and support Deloris received.

Sending prayers and sympathy to all who loved Deloris. She was a quiet, kind person. You had a wonderful mother for many years, but no matter how old a parent gets, it’s hard to let them go. You have many good memories to help you smile during your grief.

Deloris was a kind and thoughtful aunt while growing up. I remember her being a great cook and I always enjoyed visiting with their family when we were able to as kids growing up on the farm. Sending love to Terri, Jacki and Richard during this difficult time.

What an absolute beautiful service and tribute to our beautiful Aunt Delores. I wish I could have been there. You are in my prayers and i love you all. There is nothing better than knowing you are saved and going to heaven. I look forward to seeing her again some day in heaven. Our hope is in the Lord.
