Obituary

Helen (Robinson) Ashwell, 89, passed away peacefully Monday, November 20, 2023 at her home in Jamestown, ND.

Helen was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 28, 1933. She graduated from the University of Toronto 1956 with a degree in Physical and Occupational Therapy. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dr. Thomas O. Ashwell, whom she married on May 25, 1957 in Toronto.

The Ashwells settled in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada where they started their family and Helen became an active member of the community. Some of her greatest enjoyment came from being an involved member of the local Little Theater group.

Helen and Tom moved their family to Jamestown, ND in 1979. Helen again became involved in the community participating in many organizations and groups. Helen had a love of music and took particular joy singing in her church choir.

Helen is survived by her children, Rebecca (Gary) Walker of Dunnville Ontario, Canada, Jennifer (David) Pendleton of Mooresville, NC, Thomas Ashwell of St Paul, MN, Wendy (Brian) Ashwell-Busko of San Tan Valley, AZ, seven grandchildren; Sheppard, Skye, Griffin, Nadia, Ben, Stephen, and Christopher, her 3 sisters Louise Godfrey of Toronto, Ontario, April Tomlinson of Lindsay, Ontario, Joan Wort of Noues de Sienne, France, and 1 brother, David Robinson of London, Ontario.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Robinson of Beaverton Ontario, Canada, her youngest son Timothy Robin Ashwell, MD of Wausau, Wisconsin, and by her beloved husband, Dr. Thomas O. Ashwell of Jamestown, North Dakota.

Helen was a very special person in my life and I enjoyed visiting with her when we see each other. I loved singing in the choir with her and we had many great Christmas parties in her home. She was a blessing to have in my life and I will truly miss her. God's Blessings to all of you and cherish all your memories with one special lady.
