Sharlotte Schwalk

Sharlotte Schwalk, 78, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday November 8, 2023 at Eventide-Jamestown.

Sharlotte was born August 26, 1945 at Rugby, ND, the daughter of Vernon and Mable (Smith) Nordquist. She attended the local school, the family moved to Hatton where she graduated from Hatton High School.  She moved to Texas for a few months before moving back to Courtenay, ND where she reconnected with Gary.

She and Gary Schwalk were married August 14, 1965 in Courtenay, ND at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  They made their home in Jamestown, ND where Sharlotte worked for Nordge Cleaners for about 2 years.  The family then moved around every couple of years making their home in Courtenay, LaMoure, Upham, Fredonia, Pollock, Leal, and Hannaford to name a few.  Around 2014 they moved back to Jamestown where they have resided since.

Sharlotte had a passion for drawing, painting, and ceramics.  She even had her own ceramic shop.  She was a member of St. James Basilica in Jamestown.

Sharlotte is survived by her husband; 2 sons, Branden (Shelly), Great Falls, MT and Jeremie, Barnesville, MN; 2 grandchildren, Brande, Kenmare, ND and Nevaeh, Barnesville, MN; and 1 sister, Joy Johnson, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Mabel; and 3 siblings, Arylis, Larry, and Harlan.
