Obituary

Laverne Henne, 76, Valley City, ND died Saturday January 20, 2024 at St. Raphael in Valley City.

Laverne was born July 11, 1947 at Jamestown, ND the daughter of Clarence and Joyce (Nitschke) Henne. She grew up on the family farm 12 miles east of Gackle, attended grade school at Alfred and graduated from Gackle High School in 1965. She attended Community College at Bismarck

At 20 she got married and had 3 children, they were the love of her life. Laverne worked in retail for many years and retired in Valley City.

Laverne was a Sunday school teacher, usher in the church and active in many other church functions. She was a lifetime member in Beta Sigma Phi, Legion Auxiliary, and Jaycees. 

She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Verl) Woehl, Valley City, ND; Troy (Gloria) Dusek, Fennville, MI; Tara Janke, Valley City, ND; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister, Arnold (Dee) Henne, Batavia, IL; Sandra Kaufman, Rapid City, SD; Hubert Henne, Wahpeton, ND; and Randy (Angie) Henne, Montpelier, ND.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, DuWayne and Lester.

Sorry to hear about your mom. She is in a better place and is no longer in pain. She is now with Aunt Joyce and they are reminiscing with each other.
