Cynthia Jones

Cindy Scheid Jones, 73, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, in Jamestown.

Cindy was born on March 27, 1953. She graduated from high school in 1971 and went on to attend college in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On September 30, 1972, she married Stephen Jones. Together, they made their home in Minneapolis, where Cindy worked for the City of Minneapolis until her retirement.

In 2016, Cindy and Stephen moved back to Jamestown to be closer to family. Cindy treasured the time she was able to spend with the people she loved.

Cindy was a quiet and shy person, but once she got talking, she could talk your ear off. She had a kind and generous heart and was always happiest surrounded by family. She enjoyed reading and had a special love for cats. Throughout her life, Cindy had many beloved kitties as pets, and her current fur babies, Lana and Duncan, held a very special place in her heart.

Cindy was a woman of faith who believed in Jesus Christ. Her gentle spirit, big heart, love of family, and affection for her furry companions will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by Arlene Hofland; Curt (Janice) Hofland; Coleen May; and Nancy (Jeff) Levin; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvina and Arthur Scheid; her husband, Stephen Jones; two infant sisters; her sister and brother-in-law, Audrey (Harlin) Wentland; and brother-in-law, Donald Hofland.

Cindy leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
