Obituary

Herbert Spitzer, 85, Streeter, ND died Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the ND Veteran’s Home in Lisbon, ND.

Herb was born September 9, 1938 on the family farmstead West of Streeter, the son of Philip and Lydia (Graf) Spitzer.  He grew up in the area attending school and graduating from Streeter High School in 1957.

He then went on to attend Vocational Technical College in Milford, NE where he received his applied arts degree.  He joined the US Army in January of 1962 at Fargo, ND and he was honorably discharged in December of 1962 at Fort Carson, CO.  Herb was a carpenter most of his life, working on many projects.

Herb is survived by 2 siblings, Richard (Marilyna), St. Paul, MN and Delano (Diane), Minneapolis, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 9 siblings, Leopold, Rosella, Helmuth, Alice, Calvin, Erma, Bertha and 2 in infancy.

I truly enjoyed visiting Herb. He possessed a very inquisitive mind and left room for many possible explanations for things too great to understand. He looked to the afterlife as a place filled with new things to discover. He will be missed.
