Doris Jansen

Doris Jansen, 78, Steele, ND died Friday, July 3, 2026, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND.

Doris Fay was born April 20, 1948, in Jamestown, ND the daughter of Andy and Viola (Schaffer) Iszler.  She received her elementary education in Cleveland, ND, and graduated from Gackle High School.  She graduated from nursing school in Pierre, SD and later attained her social work degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck.  She was employed by many nursing homes in the area including Jamestown, Ashley, Napoleon, Wishek, Steele, ND and Ipswich, SD.

She married LeRoy Jansen on March 27, 1999, at Steele, ND; they made their home in the Tappen/Steele area where they spent most of their lives.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading books, playing cards with family and friends, always attending her grandson’s football games and wrestling tournaments.  She also loved attending and watching the horse races in Fargo, ND.

Doris is survived by her son, Randy Miller, Gackle, ND; grandson, Andrew Miller, Jamestown, ND; sister, Donna (John) Basol, St. Cloud, MN; nephews, Jason (Sarah) Iszler, Sturgis, SD and John (Christine) Basol, Big Lake, MN; niece, Stephanie (Ron) Reinardy, Owatana, MN; and sister-in-law, Gail Iszler, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Roger Iszler; sister, Debra Iszler; granddaughter, Megan Frenzel; and niece Tiffany Basol.

Funeral Service- 11:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Steele, ND with Pastor Jacob DeBoer, officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.

Interment- Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele, ND.
