Lawrence Hofmann

Lawrence Hofmann, 87, Medina, ND died Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.

Lawrence was born March 26, 1939 on the family farm NE of Medina, the son of Jake W. and Lea (Hins) Hofmann.  He attended the local farm school and Medina High School, graduating in 1959.

He joined the US Army in January of 1962 at Fort Carson, Colorado and was honorably discharged in October of 1963.  He moved back to North Dakota where he made a career of farming, 2 miles SW of Medina. 

He was a member of the UCC Church in Medina along with the local American Legion.  He was also involved with the Sportsman Club, Rescue Fire Dept., a member of the Centennial Board and Township Board.  He enjoyed fishing and basketball; taking in every High School basketball game he could, while being the team’s bus driver for 40 plus years.

Lawrence is survived by his siblings; Paulette (Bud) Carlson, Bismark, ND; Judy Lytle, Medina, ND; Duane “Tony” (Joyce), Medina, ND; Patty (Larry) Budeau, Princeton, MN; Cindy Hofmann, Wahpeton, ND; sister-in-law, Linda Korf and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Donny (1999) and Doretta (2025).

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the UCC Church, Medina ND.

Funeral Service- 11:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2026 at the UCC Church in Medina, ND with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.

Interment- Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.
