Charles Struble

Chuck Struble, 80, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday June 17, 2026 at Eventide in Jamestown.

Charles (Chuck) Henry Struble was born on December 15th 1945, in Jamestown, ND to Louise and Howard Struble. Chuck graduated from Jamestown High School in 1963 and was in the National Guard for 6 years. In 1965 he completed Basic Combat Training in Fort Leonard Wood, followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT there as well).  He began his service in the 8 1/16th Battalion and then transferred into the 141st Engineer Company where he worked on bridge construction and heavy equipment operation.

Chuck and Darlene were married in October 1968, and together they began a life rooted in bringing new lives into the world. Darlene worked as a nurse in the OB department at Jamestown hospital, and Chuck spent some time managing a herd of registered Hereford cattle and working the land on a Minnesota Farm/Ranch. During his time in Minnesota, he was moving cattle on his favorite cutting horse, Bar. Chuck stopped to grab a calf and tied Bar to a tree in a densely wooded area, and by the time he returned Bar was gone. Chuck walked all the way back to the ranch with a heavy heart only to find his heart horse waiting for him in the yard. His love for animal agriculture passed to his grandchildren, and the “Rocking S” brand still decorates the walls of their ranch in Courtenay. Chuck was a jack of all trades and also worked as a journeyman electrician. He was a member of the crew that got the Ladish Malting Plant in Spiritwood, North Dakota off the ground in the early 70’s. Around this time, Chuck partnered with his brother in their small grains farming operation. Before retirement, he hauled fuel around the Jamestown area and enjoyed the opportunity to connect with customers on every trip. During retirement, Chuck, Darlene, and dear friends spent time traveling. A few of their trips included Jamaica, the Caribbean, and Alaska. They never returned empty handed, and their thoughtful gifts are cherished by family.

Chuck was a man that everyone was always happy to see. He had a radiant smile, and a twinkle in his eye that turned a stranger to a friend. Chuck is not only remembered by his stories and jokes, but he lives on in the hearts of his sons; Cory (Deb) Struble and Dave (Leslie) Struble, his sisters; Mary (Bob) Amundson, Charlotte Stenseth, his grandchildren; Jayden (Darsh), Allie, Jonah, Grace, Evyn, and Owen, and his sister-in-law Lynne. He has been reunited with his beloved wife Darlene, his daughter Tiffiney Dick, his parents, Howard and Louise, and his brother Keith. Those who knew Darlene and Chuck smile at the thought of her saying, “Hurry up and join me here.” He was a light to everyone who got to spend time with him, and he will be deeply missed.

A service to honor Chuck’s memory will be held at Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND on July 10th at 2pm. Afterwards Chuck and Darlene will be laid to rest together at Highland Home Cemetery.
